Born from a shared commitment to sustainability, EU-WASTE began as a transnational initiative uniting municipalities and organizations across Europe to tackle the challenges of urban and food waste management.
The EU-WASTE project aims to empower citizens to actively participate in sustainable waste management through awareness, training, and the exchange of good practices in the fields of urban and food waste. It focuses on promoting the circular economy and supporting municipalities in implementing effective waste management strategies aligned with the European Green Deal and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The overall goal of the Eu waste project is to advance the circular economy by addressing two key areas: urban waste management and food waste management through the implementation of shared best practices, thus promoting sustainable development and environmental protection across European municipalities.
Interested in circular economy, waste management, and sustainable practices Priority given to older adults and vulnerable populations
Support project activities and act as multipliers Replicate awareness campaigns on effective waste management
Implement policies based on project recommendations Ensure long-term sustainability of municipal waste management
Urban waste management must reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions through better recycling, separation, and cleaner technologies.
Municipalities need support to meet EU waste regulations, use digital tools for monitoring, and strengthen cooperation between local authorities and partners.
Citizens need more environmental awareness and inclusion in actions promoting sustainability. Collaboration is key to lasting change.
